Gene Therapy Pioneer Named Advancement of Science Fellow
Dr. Howard Federoff
December 11, 2012 – Dr. Howard Federoff, Georgetown’s executive vice president for health sciences, is among this year’s 702 distinguished scholars named fellows by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
The association has recognized Federoff, also executive dean for Georgetown’s School of Medicine, for his pioneering research in gene therapy and for founding and leading a consortium enabling two trials in Parkinson's disease.
Federoff will receive an official certificate and a gold and blue rosette pin representing science and engineering on Feb. 16 during the 2013 AAAS Annual Meeting in Boston.
