Master Planning

Planning for future growth and a vibrant residential living and learning experience

Georgetown is engaged in a comprehensive master planning process to transform its main campus into an even more vibrant residential living and learning community while shaping future growth off of our historic campus for long-term institutional health and sustainability.

To help the university accomplish its master planning goals, Georgetown has engaged professionals with expertise in planning and public-private partnerships between cities and higher education institutions – Forest City Washington and Sasaki Associates. These experts are in the process of collecting data from the university community, including patterns of living, learning and working at Georgetown, that will inform our master planning decisions.

The university is currently engaged in strengthening residential and social spaces for students. Construction is scheduled to begin on a dynamic new residence hall in 2014, and work on the new Healey Family Student Center is already under way.

The participation of the entire Georgetown community – students, faculty, staff, alumni and neighbors – is essential to achieving a shared vision of the future of this university. We encourage you to engage in the process and welcome your ideas and comments.
