The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) is the centerpiece of Georgetown University's commitment to educate students for careers in international affairs. Its unique undergraduate program, established in 1919, is grounded in the study of liberal arts, focused on international affairs and approached from an interdisciplinary perspective. The School also offers six world-class graduate programs leading to the master's degree, as well as joint programs with other departments and schools at the university. Drawing on the rich resources of the nation's capital, influential practitioners join renowned scholars to prepare our students for leadership positions around the globe in the private sector, government, and international and nongovernmental organizations.

The specific mission of the Georgetown University Medical Center is the advancement of health through research in the clinical and biomedical sciences, the education of future leaders in medical and nursing practice and academia, and the provision of compassionate and scientifically competent patient care and service to the Washington community and the nation.

The Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies has a tradition of excellence in the education of health care professionals, providing leaders for the nation and the world. The school offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) for traditional college students, for registered nurses returning for advanced education and for those who already hold a college degree in another field. The Graduate Program offers the Master of Science (M.S.) in five specializations: Integrated Health Systems for those with or without a nursing degree, and advanced practice degrees in Nurse Anesthesia, Nurse Midwifery, Family Practice and Acute Care.

Georgetown's program of Continuing Studies rests on the belief that art, literature, history, philosophy, theology-all the various disciplines that engage students during their four brief years of college-can continue to speak with power and insight to men and women throughout their lives and guide them to the wisdom to live well. The School of Continuing Studies offers part-time evening degree programs -- the Doctor of Liberal Studies, D.L.S.; the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, M.A.L.S.; the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, B.A.L.S.; and a joint degree, M.D./M.A.L.S., available to Medical School students.
