If there are real difficulties in applying any of this technology, it's not usually the gurus' fault. The things I talk about on these pages are not things that require technological innovation to apply. They are rather questions of adapting existing technology to serve the fundamental purposes of universities. If you're having trouble doing these things, my personal view is that you need to take up the issue with the deans and provosts who are ultimately responsible for the instructional and research program of your institution. Their commitment is what can make this work. But you might have an unexpected ally on your campus.
