Clinton to Present Awards for Advancing Women in Peace and Security at Georgetown

  • The Right Honorable William Hague MP, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs;
  • Dr. Denis Mukwege, founder of Panzi Hospital in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
With remarks by Hillary Rodham Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State.
WHAT:
Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will present the university’s annual Hillary Rodham Clinton Awards for Advancing Women in Peace and Security at Georgetown Feb. 25. The awards, created by the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security (GIWPS) will be presented at the ceremony to British Foreign Secretary William Hague and Dr. Denis Mukwege, founder of Panzi Hospital in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This year’s awards recognize the trailblazing role that outstanding male leaders can and must play in supporting women in peace building.
