Ribbon Cutting for Georgetown University's Solar Street

Join students of Georgetown Energy, the Georgetown Sustainability Initiative and our community partners to celebrate the launch of Georgetown's Solar Street, a new clean energy project.
Keynote remarks will be given by Mr. Gary Guzy, Deputy Director of the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

On April 11th members of the Georgetown University community will gather to celebrate the launch of "Solar Street," a solar electricity project developed through a student-staff partnership. Solar Street includes six historic row houses right outside the university's main gates on 37th street, NW which have been retrofitted with solar electricity panels.

A symbol of the campus' commitment to sustainability, this project will lower the carbon footprint of this city block while also providing a model for future student-lead initiatives. Mr. Gary Guzy, Deputy Director of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, will provide remarks at the event.
