The 2011 U.S.-India Higher Education Summit

The U.S.-India Higher Education Summit will provide a platform for government and education leaders from both countries to outline their vision for 21st century education engagement to a broad cross-section of academics, university presidents and administrators, NGO and foundation executives, and association and private-sector leaders.

Strategic Vision and Achievable Steps
Co-chaired by Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and Public Diplomacy Anna Stock and Minister Sibal, with the participation of eight high-level U.S. and Indian officials, university and college presidents, and private sector leaders.

9:40 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. | Videos highlighting US-India exchange/partnership program (Gaston Hall)

10:20 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. | Plenary Session (Gaston Hall)
Getting Started: Foundations for Sustainable Partnerships in Teaching and Research
Discussion with full plenary moderated by university presidents and education experts from each country. Topics to be covered include elements for success in student exchange, faculty exchange, joint curriculum development, research partnerships, and university-wide initiatives.
