Georgetown University is hosting John Hofmeister, former president of Shell Oil Company, for a discussion about his new book, "Why We Hate the Oil Companies: Straight Talk from an Energy Insider." As president of Shell Oil, Hofmeister recognized energy and environmental security concerns, challenging the industry to address these critical issues of the national energy system. Now, as the founder of Citizens for Affordable Energy, he travels the country to educate citizens and public officials about energy solutions, environmental protection and energy alternatives. In his book "Why We Hate the Oil Companies," Hofmeister provides firsthand knowledge of the energy industry and proposes strategies and solutions to prepare us for the energy challenges of the 21st Century. |
