Technology Services

The Office of Information Services develops and raises awareness of new information technology initiatives at Georgetown and also focuses on financial planning, strategic initiatives and policy areas related to information technology. The office, in partnership with University Information Services (UIS), provides comprehensive technical support for Georgetown students, faculty and staff.

UIS provides tools, advice and support to facilitate communications for the Georgetown user community. UIS is also in charge of Hoyamail and GUMail, the e-mail clients for students, faculty and staff. Cable television and residential hall phone services are run through UIS as well. And UIS offers courses along with how-to instructions for all of Georgetown’s technology. The office is closely tied to key members and committees of the university’s administration, allowing its members to dialogue about information technology needs of the university community, as well as giving the office a voice on technology’s role on campus.
