Community Conversations: 2008-2009

Georgetown University hosted the second Community Planning Meeting on Saturday, May 30, 2009 about the development of its 2010-2020 Campus Plan.

On Saturday, November 8, 2008 Georgetown University hosted a conversation with community members at the Duke Ellington School to discuss the development of the 2010 campus master plan. University officials met with community members to share initial priorities and opportunities as the planning process gets underway.

University officials projected that key drivers for the 2010 campus plan will be strengthening academic quality, strengthening community life on campus, and strengthening civic life in the surrounding neighborhood. Potential projects are likely to focus more on renovations rather than new buildings and also address ways to improve pedestrian safety and promote sustainability.
